DIAMOND CUTS

In my last post, I introduced the diamond analogy as a metaphor representing the engagement of two people in relationship, whether personal or business.

The diamond is believed to be the hardest known mineral in the world so practically indestructible – a fitting stone to symbolise quality relationships.

When choosing a diamond of quality, there are 7 “C’s” to be considered.

The first C is about the CUT.

The brilliant cut reflects light and sparkle more than other cuts, though the expertise of the cutter plays an important role in revealing innate brilliance. If, on entering any important relationship in our lives, we look for brilliant collaborations, ones that show up at best for all concerned, some mindful attention to what is in the field of possibilities for the relationship may be reflected in how each party is “cut”. What has prepared and developed us for the role we want to play going forward? What are we bringing to the relationship that will foster the best that the relationship can deliver?

The role of a coach may be similar to that of the diamond cutter – who helps reveal your innate brilliance - the best version of yourself in the world.
