Nurturing Talent
Watching the Olympics, it is obvious that every competitor has a game plan – strategies for dealing with whatever could arise during performance in a specific event. And those plans are put in place with the help of a coach who guides both from the broad perspective of understanding the rules of the game and all the factors that impact competitive performance. Coaches also have an objective stance that enables them to guide skill development and fine tune natural talent.
And so it is with coaching life skills – understanding natural talents in individuals and helping from an objective stance to develop them so that there is a greater chance of peak performance in life. While we may not be playing life to win medals, we surely expect rewards in the shape of income generation and the management of day to day affairs to create satisfaction with our achievements. We may not be living life to public acclaim and yet managing our lives effectively impacts society in that we contribute positively.
Hope you’re inspired by the performances of your country’s teams!
