Spring

What a joy to see the blossoms on my daily walk – time of renewal and new growth. A possible metaphor for our personal life journey is illustrated by the seasonal cycles - not necessarily in tune with the actual seasons but in our own year from birthday to birthday – Spring following immediately after our birth date and then following the usual patterns of the seasons.

Winter is the time of stillness in which nature withdraws energy from external manifestation into core structures so that old, tired and dead can be sloughed off. It’s a time for conserving energy, being still. So, the 3 month period preceding our birthday could be seen as the equivalent of our personal winter– a time for inner contemplation, assessment of what IS so that we can shed what is no longer appropriate. We can then be ready for renewal and regenerative expression of our chosen lives in the spring following our birth anniversary.

Our coaching journeys can follow similar patterns – starting with the newness of discovery, going through the vigorous flowering of self-understanding, into harvesting the fruits and then into consolidation and discarding old patterns of being that are no longer appropriate.
