What Can Be Done
Currently, there is so much STUFF coming at me online, that I feel overwhelmed with what is important to other people and not necessarily to me! How to navigate through it all?
This works for me and perhaps could be adapted to suit your Self and your particular circumstances. The brain tends to work optimally when it focusses for no more than 45 – 60 minutes at a time – it needs short breaks after concentration to collate and store information
1. Find the still place in the storm: starting, ending, and punctuating the day with deliberate times (often not more than 5 minutes) of stillness.
2. Do something enjoyable that takes you away from your desk and/or computer – play the piano, go for a walk, cook, tidy, sing, dance around in the lounge, connect with a friend or colleague, do a puzzle – whatever breaks the focus.
3. Silence artificial sound when you’re needing to focus – yes, switch off the phone!!
To paraphrase the words of a song – keep finding ways to stay wise in crazy times – to move away from the noise and be present for one’s Self – the wise part within all of us that needs to be nurtured and taken care of – no government can dictate isolation from Self!
