Rainbow Series: YELLOW

Yellow is the next colour to be explored in this series of posts. It is the colour that emerges when the red is bled from orange so is symbolic of movement towards something and away from stasis. Yellow is the colour of sunshine, positivity, energy and brilliance. After all, the sun is the source of energy and light to our planet and all that the earth supports. It is the means by which life as we know it is possible.

It is well known that exposure to sunshine empowers the body to manufacture vitamin D – a nutrient vital to the formation of strong bones and teeth, thus structural strength; it is also vital for an efficient immune system and therefore the ability to defend against invasion; also vital for optimal brain function and therefore the ability to manage intellectual aspects of living.

Yellow also brings to mind the third chakra – the solar plexus the place of the “fire in the belly” that drives one into action.

Yellow beautifully signifies the both/and interpretation of symbols as it is also the colour associated with cowardice, ill-health and weakness,

I more easily associate with the positive aspects of yellow because Positivity is one of my leading Strengths in Gallup terms. If you wish to know more about your natural gifts and talents, you may wish to embark on a Strengths coaching journey which helps you identify what’s naturally positive in your make-up and develop it to assist both yourself and those whose lives you touch.
